Mole Coloring Pages
Moles spend most of their time underground, their vision has deteriorated, and their eyes are sunk under the skin. Moles have lost their outer ears and their hearing is very poor. Therefore, they rely mainly on their sense of smell to move underground. Moles can smell different odors in their left and right nostrils, and use them to determine the precise spatial location of food. The peculiar star-nosed mole rat has 22 tentacles on the tip of its nose to detect its surroundings separately, and has also evolved an underwater sense of smell. While underwater, they exhale small bubbles from their nostrils and then quickly inhale them back, capturing odors through contact between the bubbles and the water.
