Sand Dollar Coloring Pages
Although flat and without spines, the sand dollar belongs to the urchin class. When alive, its surface is covered with tiny, downy spines that allow it to crawl into the sand. The petal-like pattern is made up of rows of tiny holes with podia from them for breathing. Its mouth is on the patterned side, where the center of the flower is located, and its anus is also on this side. The sand dollar is also called sea biscuit or cake urchin, and because of its peculiar appearance, it was also called the mermaid’s coin. Here are some free printable sand dollar coloring pages.
